About this study

This survey explores a number of key issues such as:

do people believe they have a right to choose schools for their children?

what do people think are justifiable reasons for avoiding the nearest state school?

do parents differ in their views from people who aren't parents?

We will be surveying the general public to see if particular views are prevalent amongst certain groups of people, or if they are shared by the general public as a whole.

How we are working

We are asking these questions as part of the 28th British Social Attitudes Report. This project has been funded by the ESCR and is being collaborated on by NatCen and the Institute of Education.
