Data analysis
NatCen's cutting edge analysis of quantitative data provides statistical evidence that has direct, practical applications in terms of understanding social behaviour and informing policy. Our analysts have high-level data manipulation and statistical skills, and spend much of their time understanding policy areas, analysing survey data and disseminating their findings.
About our data analysis
The analytical methods we use are always relevant to the research requirement, and range from summary tabulations to multivariate techniques such as regression, multi-level modelling and latent class analysis.
We also use a range of methods for longitudinal data analysis, including event history analysis and survival analysis.
We report our findings in a variety of ways, through substantive reports, short evidence papers, blogs and presentations.

Our analysts are familiar with NatCen's many social surveys, including Understanding Society (USoc), the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA), British Social Attitudes (BSA) and the Health Survey for England (HSE).
