Ivonne works in the Children and Young People Group on a number
of smaller and larger-scale studies, amongst them several
evaluations, which can really influence social policy and services.
For example, she works on an evaluation of a teenage pregnancy
prevention programme, which will help government make decisions
about its further roll-out. A mixed methods study on the health and
wellbeing of JSA claimants is going to provide policy makers with
insight into the prevalence of poor mental health in this
population, and an understanding of the interplay between the
processes of being unemployed and claiming JSA, and people's
wellbeing.
The majority of studies Ivonne works on use mixed methods in order
to achieve the best fit between methods and research objectives,
and her role involves combining both her quantitative and
qualitative research skills.
