
Nilufer joined NatCen in April 2009. She has since led on and
contributed to a range of qualitative research studies in the
income and work fields. Nilufer is currently managing the
Evaluation of the Trailblazer for the Very Long Term Unemployed for
the Department for Work and Pensions. Research studies Nilufer is
also currently working on include two grant-funded projects into
multi-dimensional poverty and a study exploring the experiences of
social care among BME groups. Recent studies Nilufer has managed
include research into the experiences of debt and debt advice for
the Islington Debt Coalition, an evaluation of the Code of Practice
on Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures for Acas and the
qualitative strand of the Free School Meals Pilot evaluation for
the Department for Education. Nilufer is experienced in conducting
research using a range of qualitative methodologies including
in-depth interviews focus groups and deliberative workshops.
Nilufer also co-teaches the NatCen Learning focus groups
course.
Before joining NatCen, Nilufer worked as a Researcher at the
Centre for Economic and Social Inclusion.
