Childcare and Early Years: Parents' Survey 2009 | Participants

Up-to-date and accurate information on families’ childcare arrangements

Sep 2010 |

Why we need you

This study aims to find out which types of childcare and out of school activities, if any, parents choose and what they think about the services available. The information we collect will be used by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) to help shape policy on services for children and families.

We need to get a picture of all the different kinds of arrangements that parents make for their children, including where parents look after their children entirely by themselves.

We are interested to know how and why parents make choices about childcare and out of school activities, and what they think about the options available to them in their local area. It is important to hear the views of as many of the families we approach as possible, so that we can get an accurate picture of what parents across the country think about childcare and out of school activities.

How you were chosen

Parents have been selected for this study at random from the Child Benefit records. This ensures that the parents selected for the study are representative of parents across the whole country. It also means that the parents selected cannot be replaced by other parents - we need you!
