Summary
For adults the 2006 Health Survey for England focused on
cardiovascular disease and its risk factors. The
findings from this survey built on those obtained in
2003.
Participants were asked questions about cardiovascular disease,
physical activity, alcohol consumption, smoking, and fruit and
vegetable consumption.
For children, the 2006 survey focussed on obesity and other health
risk factors and included questions on topics such as physical
activity and fruit and vegetable consumption.
Nurses recorded key measurements from adults and children including
blood pressure and waist and hip circumference. Urine and blood
samples were also collected from those adults who gave their
consent.
