How we are working

NatCen works in partnership with UCL to deliver the Health Survey for England. The survey is commissioned by The NHS Information Centre for health and social care.

Methodology

As in previous years, all participants are being asked core modules of questions including alcohol consumption, smoking and fruit and vegetable consumption. In addition to this adults are also being asked questions about diabetes, kidney disease and Self Care plans for long term conditions.

For all those who give their consent, key measures such as blood pressure and waist and hip circumference are being recorded by our nurses. Urine and blood samples are also being collected from adults, and saliva samples are being taken from adults and children.
